Your six-day safari itinerary, explained
This is a suggested six-day route, not a guarantee of any animal sighting or an unchangeable flight schedule. Capable Africa Tours confirms overnight properties, the departure point, park entries and any air sectors when preparing your quotation. Here is how the time is actually used:
Day 1 — Tarangire and the first campsite
Leave Arusha for the elephant habitats of Tarangire. After game viewing, travel to your assigned campsite around Mto wa Mbu or Karatu. The crew explains where meals are prepared, how the facilities work and what to do if wildlife is heard nearby. You should never wander around a campsite after dark without following the guide’s instructions.
Overnight: Mto wa Mbu / Karatu campsite.
Travel and timing: Arusha to Tarangire plus park drive.
Day 2 — Set out for Serengeti
Travel through the highlands and toward central Serengeti. Picnic stops and park formalities make this a long road day, so the camp team prepares for a practical evening arrival. Public campsites can be lively; your quotation should specify whether a public or special campsite is planned and what this means for privacy and facilities.
Overnight: Central Serengeti campsite.
Travel and timing: Long road transfer, with any late wildlife stops depending on time.
Day 3 — Full Serengeti safari
A full day on the plains is one of the main reasons to include two Serengeti nights. Take an early game drive and return for meals or carry a picnic as agreed. In the evening, enjoy dinner at camp and listen to the bush from a safe area. The guide will explain campsite rules and where you can move after dark.
Overnight: Central Serengeti campsite.
Travel and timing: Full wildlife day.
Day 4 — Serengeti to Ngorongoro campsite
Begin with an early drive and then head toward Ngorongoro. Camping on or near the highlands can be cold and windy; a warm sleeping layer matters more than it does in the lowlands. An approved campsite is arranged ahead of time, not improvised at the crater rim.
Overnight: Approved Ngorongoro highland / rim campsite.
Travel and timing: Travel and occasional wildlife stops.
Day 5 — Crater game drive and lower-altitude camp
Descend into the crater early with picnic lunch and enough time for wildlife viewing under park regulations. Afterwards, drive toward Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for your final camping night. Returning to lower altitude can be more comfortable than trying to cover another park the same afternoon.

Travel and timing: Crater safari plus onward camp transfer.
Day 6 — Lake Manyara and Arusha
After breakfast, pack camp and spend time at Lake Manyara, known for contrasting forest and open habitat. Your guide then drives back to Arusha. If you prefer more rest or an early transfer, Capable can price a version without the final park; the change should be agreed, not sprung on you mid-trip.
Overnight: End in Arusha.

What camping feels like when you are actually there
The tent may be comfortable, but the site will not behave like a hotel. Mornings can be chilly, dust gets into bags and facilities may be shared with other visitors. The crew should explain meal arrangements and how to use lights, toilets and safe walking areas after dark. Carry a headlamp and a warm layer even if your trip begins in hot weather.
Not all campsites are interchangeable. Public campsites can be social and economical; special campsites can be quieter but require different bookings and costs. We can explain the actual site category and whether a cook and equipment are included, instead of describing every overnight simply as “luxury camping”.
What travelers should ask before booking
Do we sleep in proper beds or tents?
This sample assumes camping tents, not hotel rooms. The written package must confirm mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows and whether you bring any equipment.
Are bathrooms private?
Public campsites generally have shared facilities; special campsites vary. Ask us for the category and bathroom expectations at each overnight.
Is camping safe with wild animals nearby?
Wildlife can enter unfenced areas. Follow the guide and campsite rules, avoid leaving food in tents and do not walk around after dark without permission.
What makes the quotation accurate
Camping prices vary with public versus special sites, number of guests, crew arrangements, equipment standard and park fees. We will list campsite categories rather than sell one vague “camping” standard.

We will identify the accommodation category and confirm the transfer route rather than quote a low number that quietly assumes unavailable rooms or missing flights. If you have fixed international departures, we will check whether your final safari day leaves a safe connection.
Your final itinerary is coordinated by our Tanzania team: the confirmed vehicle, guide, lodges or camps, park activities, planned meals, and agreed transfers are combined into one written proposal. You will receive the actual services and their conditions before paying a deposit.

Questions before you travel
Can I use this route at any time of year?
The route is possible in different seasons, but wildlife distribution, road access and available accommodation vary. We confirm the order of parks and overnight areas against your month of travel.
Can I finish in Zanzibar or at an airport instead of Arusha?
Usually a different endpoint is possible, but it can involve a separate domestic flight or a longer transfer. Capable will price it transparently and check the real connection before confirmation.
