Before choosing the cheapest camping price, ask whether the package uses public campsites with shared facilities or special campsites requiring a mobile setup. Some sites have limited showers, electricity or hot water. A cook, tent, mattress and sleeping bag should be listed separately, because not every operator supplies the same equipment. Ten-day itinerary: where you travel and sleep
This is a sample route to help you decide whether the trip suits your dates. Accommodation names, transport sectors and park activity times are final only after availability is checked and the itinerary is confirmed in writing.
Day 1 — Arusha to Tarangire
Meet the safari team and drive to Tarangire for game viewing. The guide explains camp safety and what to expect when you reach the booked campsite. Enjoy dinner prepared according to the confirmed meal plan.
Overnight: Tarangire / Karatu campsite, night 1.
Day 2 — Lake Manyara
Travel toward Manyara for a game drive and birdwatching stops. Groundwater forest and lakeshore habitats offer a contrast to Tarangire. Return to your booked Karatu-area campsite for the evening.

Day 3 — Enter Serengeti
Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and into Serengeti, allowing for gate and road formalities. The journey may take most of the day. Your crew establishes camp at a designated site rather than a random location in the park.

Day 4 — Full day in Serengeti
Explore the park’s grassland, kopjes and wildlife-rich areas, with a picnic or suitable rest stop. There is no need to pack tents and shift sites merely to add movement to the itinerary.

Day 5 — Another wildlife day
Look for resident predators, grazing herds and birds according to the season. Your guide will advise safe viewing and park rules. Large migration herds or river crossings should not be treated as certain.

Day 6 — Final full Serengeti day
Use the extra day for habitats missed earlier or a longer look at interesting wildlife. Return before dark to the designated campsite, follow the crew’s food storage instructions and keep a headlamp available.

Day 7 — Drive to Ngorongoro area
Pack camp and travel back through the conservation area. Allow a proper road day and arrive in the highlands for the night. Highland camps can feel much cooler than Serengeti, so sleeping layers matter.

Day 8 — Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the crater with the necessary entry arrangements, stop for a picnic and return to the highlands. Wildlife is not guaranteed. If the campsite has limited electricity or showers, your crew should explain the available facilities.

Day 9 — Karatu and optional local experience
Keep this day to enjoy a pre-agreed local activity or slower travel without another long park-to-park transfer. Lake Eyasi or village visits should be included only when the guide confirms the programme and charges.

Day 10 — Return to Arusha
Drive back to Arusha for the end of the camping route. Allow enough time for unloading equipment and any airport transfer. Keep non-refundable onward flights well clear of the road arrival estimate.

We will give you a written quotation naming each overnight location, room or campsite category, the vehicle and guiding arrangements, meal plan, park fees, transfer sectors, optional activities and the payment and cancellation terms. Wildlife sightings are natural events and are not promised. If your flight arrival makes the first day too short, we will adjust the activities rather than sell you a full game drive you cannot enjoy.

Facilities vary by campsite and can change. Public campsites may have shared washrooms; some remote sites have limited water or power. Take a power bank and ask for the overnight list before you travel.
Is there a cook and is drinking water included?
