This is a suggested six-day route, not a guarantee of any animal sighting or an unchangeable flight schedule. Capable Africa Tours confirms overnight properties, the departure point, park entries and any air sectors when preparing your quotation. Here is how the time is actually used:
Day 1 — Arusha toward Serengeti
Begin early and travel through the Ngorongoro highlands toward your selected Serengeti region. For a road-based six-day trip we normally plan a reachable central or southern base rather than assume a far-northern arrival. The first day is principally a transfer, with late viewing dependent on gate time and road conditions.
Overnight: Seasonally chosen central / southern Serengeti camp.
Travel and timing: Long road journey from Arusha.
Day 2 — Explore the region where herds may be moving
Your driver-guide checks recent local wildlife reports and weather, then explores practical areas around camp. In the southern season, calving-area observations may be possible; in other months, resident wildlife can be rewarding even when the main herds are elsewhere. No operator can promise the exact location of the movement.
Overnight: Same Serengeti camp.

Day 3 — Another day in the field
Stay in the same region unless there is a strong wildlife and logistical reason to shift camp. This avoids consuming most of the day on a cross-Serengeti transfer. Look for herd behavior, predators and the remarkable range of resident wildlife; your guide explains how the ecosystem changes through the year.
Overnight: Same Serengeti camp.
Travel and timing: Full game drive with a flexible loop.
Day 4 — A final full Serengeti day
Allow time for the unexpected. Some of the best moments come from waiting near animals already found rather than driving to an unconfirmed sighting. Your guide will balance wildlife opportunities with road rules and the distance that can realistically be covered from camp.

Day 5 — Serengeti to Ngorongoro highlands
Use the early hours for wildlife as you begin the longer drive toward Karatu. Do not assume the same road schedule applies if the camp is near the Mara River; northern arrangements require separate flight or road planning. An overnight close to the crater makes the following morning practical.

Day 6 — Ngorongoro Crater, then Arusha
Enter the crater early for a contrasting wildlife setting, then drive back toward Arusha. Even when the Serengeti herds are elusive, the crater can add diverse wildlife opportunities. Ensure any onward flight leaves enough time for park exit and road travel.
Overnight: End in Arusha.

Choosing a Serengeti region for your travel month
The southern plains and Ndutu area become especially relevant around the calving season; central Serengeti can be rewarding throughout the year; western and northern areas matter at different stages of movement. These are broad patterns, not fixed appointments for animal herds. Rainfall can shift what you see, and no operator can promise a river crossing at a particular hour.
If you specifically want the Mara River, six days can work with a suitable northern fly-in arrangement, but the road-based central Serengeti itinerary shown here is not that product. What travelers should ask before booking
Can you guarantee a Mara River crossing?
No. Crossings depend on herd movement and many natural factors. They may occur outside expected dates, and a six-day road safari based in central Serengeti will not magically reach the far north.
Which months are best for migration?
It depends on whether you want calving areas, broad herd movement or possible northern crossings. Tell us the dates first; we will recommend a sensible region and explain uncertainties rather than use a single “best month” for everything.
Is a northern migration camp included?
Only when specifically stated in the quotation. Northern camps and flights can change the route, cost, and time available for Ngorongoro.
What makes the quotation accurate

Questions before you travel
Can I use this route at any time of year?
The route is possible in different seasons, but wildlife distribution, road access and available accommodation vary. We confirm the order of parks and overnight areas against your month of travel.
Can I finish in Zanzibar or at an airport instead of Arusha?
Usually a different endpoint is possible, but it can involve a separate domestic flight or a longer transfer. Capable will price it transparently and check the real connection before confirmation.
